This bright and sporadic meteor was recorded over the south of Spain on 16 June at 2:31 local time (0:31 universal time). The event was produced by a fragment from an asteroid that hit the atmosphere at about 66000 km/h. The fireball began at an altitude of around 93 km over the province of Huelva, and ended at a height of about 43 km over the Gulf of Cadiz (Atlantic Ocean). The event was recorded by the meteor observing stations operating in the framework of the SMART Project (University of Huelva) from the astronomical observatories of Calar Alto, La Sagra (Granada), La Hita (Toledo) and Sevilla.
